TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 27, 2018
9 A.M. – 5 P.M.
room 385, Russell Senate Office Building
Registration for the 2018 Advocacy Day is now closed. We hope you’ll join us next year!
Join the American Association for Dental Research (AADR) and the Friends of National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (FNIDCR) on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 for the 2018 Advocacy Day on Capitol Hill.
With the many competing federal
funding priorities facing Congress, it is critical for the dental, oral and
craniofacial research communities to communicate to policymakers not only how
funding this research positively contributes to the overall health and
well-being of the American people, but also how it can ease the economic burden
oral conditions place on our society.
Congress want to hear from their constituents. The participation of AADR and
FNIDCR members and patient advocates in our 2018 Advocacy Day is critical to
demonstrating that increased investments in biomedical research and oral health
programs are having a real impact on the people in their home states and
beyond. We need your voice to amplify our message!
The AADR and
Friends of NIDCR Advocacy Day will include a morning briefing and training
session, as well as an afternoon dedicated to meetings with participants’
members of Congress and Hill staff.
To register for the 2018 Advocacy Day, complete the registration form by Friday, January 26, 2018. There is no registration fee associated with this event.
*Please note: Registering for the AADR and Friends of NIDCR Advocacy Day signals your professional commitment to attend. Last minute cancellations or failure to attend will harm our relationship with members of Congress and their staff.
The schedule for Advocacy Day (preliminary schedule outlined below) is designed to allow participants to fly or drive into and out of Washington, D.C. on the same day, if feasible and desired.
Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) is the closest airport – roughly five miles – to Capitol Hill. Other options include Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) and Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI).
For attendees requiring an overnight stay, we recommend booking your hotel room as soon as possible for the best rates and availability. Please do not wait until the last minute, and feel free to reach out to AADR staff for hotel recommendations.
