Register to Attend! Become a 2019 Advocacy Day Sponsor

Join the American Association for Dental Research (AADR) and the Friends of National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (FNIDCR) on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 for the 2019 Advocacy Day on Capitol Hill.

Advocacy Day is the optimal time for you to communicate with federal policymakers about the important role dental, oral and craniofacial research play in our society. From contributing to the health and well-being of Americans to providing the evidence we need to reduce the economic burden of oral conditions, this research is positively shaping health and health care in this country.

We hope you will join us to share your story –personal or professional – and remind policymakers about the connection between oral and overall health as well as why research should remain a legislative priority.

To read a recap from our successful 2018 Advocacy Day, visit the AADR Government Affairs & Science Policy Blog.

The AADR and Friends of NIDCR Advocacy Day will include a morning briefing and training session, as well as an afternoon dedicated to meetings with participants’ members of Congress and Hill staff.

Logistics

The schedule for Advocacy Day (Coming Soon) is designed to allow participants to fly or drive into and out of Washington, D.C. on the same day, if feasible and desired.

Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) is the closest airport – roughly five miles – to Capitol Hill. Other options include Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) and Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI).

For attendees requiring an overnight stay, we recommend booking your hotel room as soon as possible for the best rates and availability. Please do not wait until the last minute, and feel free to reach out to AADR staff for hotel recommendations.

Travel Support

For the third year, AADR and FNIDCR are pleased to offer funding to provide travel support (economy airfare and a one-night stay in a hotel near Capitol Hill) for some dental students and patient advocates to attend Advocacy Day. Apply for travel support online.

AADR wants to help as many people as possible attend our Advocacy Day. Refer to our Advocacy Day Travel Justification for tips and resources you can use when seeking approval for attendance
