About Florida:

Florida, or the “Sunshine State,” is located in the southeastern part of the United States. The name Florida comes from the Spanish explorer Juan Ponce de León as he described the region as “La Florida”, Spanish for “the land of flowers.” Florida is the largest producer of citrus fruit in the United States and produces the majority of oranges, tangerines, and grapefruits. It comes as no surprised that the number one industry in Florida is tourism due to the all of the shopping, beaches, museums, and historic landmarks.  The average high temperature for Fort Lauderdale in March is 83°F with an average low of 68°F. About Fort Lauderdale:

Fort Lauderdale is located approximately 23 miles north of Miami and 42 miles south of Palm Beach on the southeast coast of Florida. It is the eighth largest city in Florida. Fort Lauderdale was one of the three forts named after Major William Lauderdale in the Second Seminole War. None of the three forts are still standing.

Annual Meeting Location

The Greater Ft. Lauderdale / Broward County Convention Center is the country’s premiere waterfront conference facility. A 2,500-space parking garage is connected to the Center via two enclosed, air-conditioned skywalks. The building is a five-minute drive from the Fort Lauderdale Airport, within walking distance of many local hotels, and less than one mile from Fort Lauderdale's famed Blue Wave beaches.
