A volunteer advocacy coordinator represents each U.S. dental school and, working with the dean, is the focal point for coordinating and carrying out advocacy activities in their dental institution.  The VAC for each dental institution will be the first point-of-contact, along with the dean, in AADR/ADEA joint national advocacy efforts.  Volunteer coordinators are expected to: identify and recruit new advocates within their institution, identify partners and expand strategic alliances on behalf of dental education and research, and advise, assist and coordinate logistics associated with advocacy at their institution.
