Sites
Seattle Space NeedleThe Space Needle, dating from the 1962 Century 21 Exposition, is Seattle's most recognizable landmark and located a short distance from the Convention Center.
The Seattle Center Monorail runs from Seattle Center (area surrounding the Space Needle) to Westlake Center, a downtown shopping mall, a little over a mile to the southeast.

A new venue and museum in Seattle is the Chihuly Garden and Glass, located directly beside the Space Needle.  Dale Chihuly, a Washington state native, is the artist that made the celebrated ceiling in the Bellagio Hotel.  His influence can be seen all over the city in the number of active glass blowing studios and artwork available.  Other notable Seattle landmarks include Pike Place Market (4 blocks from the convention center), the Fremont Troll, the Experience Music Project and Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame (at Seattle Center), and the Seattle Central Library.

Starbucks has been at Pike Place Market since the coffee company was founded there in 1971. The first store is still operating a block south of its original location.

The Seattle Great Wheel is on Pier 57, next to Downtown Seattle. Extended out over Elliott Bay, the 175 feet (53 m) structure is the tallest Ferris wheel on the west coast and the only wheel that has been built over water.

Dining
Seattle offers a variety of restaurants from casual to fine dining and cuisines from American to Mediterranean to Italian to sushi in the downtown area and the surrounding neighborhoods.

Options inside the convention center range from Tully’s Coffee to Subway to a sit-down restaurant with burgers, steaks and seafood.  There are also a large variety of options just steps from the convention center with a variety of cuisine selections and price points.

Other popular Seattle restaurants include Wild Ginger, Kells Irish Restaurant & Pub, Purple Café & Wine Bar, and Icon Grill.
