The IADR/AADR Global Headquarters has many steps to take and much follow-up work in response to this unprecedented cancellation of our event. We ask for your patience as we work through the process to resolve any questions. Please check this website periodically for additional information.

Why is the meeting being cancelled?
As we have previously communicated via email, the website and social media the IADR and AADR leadership has been closely monitoring the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus disease). Based on the latest travel bans and advisories implemented by Governments and Governmental agencies, universities and corporations and to protect public health, it is clear that canceling is the right course of action.

Will the IADR/AADR/CADR General Session be rescheduled?
There are no plans to reschedule the IADR/AADR/CADR General Session. The AADR/CADR Annual Meeting is scheduled for March 17-20, 2021 in Boston, Mass., USA and the IADR/APR General Session is scheduled for June 23-26, 2021 in Chengdu, China.

Will paid attendee and exhibitor badge registrations be refunded?
Anyone who has paid a registration to Spargo will be refunded within 45 days. You do not need to contact the IADR or Spargo for a refund. If you were refunded but IADR retained an administrative fee this will now be refunded to you. If you choose to donate your registration fee (or a portion of it) to assist IADR/AADR in defraying the costs associated with the meeting cancellation please send an email to by March 20, 2020.

Will attendees, speakers and exhibitors be refunded for airline tickets or other transportation or hotel and housing expenses?
Unfortunately, IADR is not in a position to reimburse attendees for travel or hotel costs. Attendees, speakers and exhibitors should cancel any personal arrangements they’ve made, such as travel and housing reservations. If hotel accommodations were made through the IADR Housing Bureau, Spargo please contact 

Please note any cancellation of your hotel reservation must be made at least seventy-two (72) hours prior to your scheduled arrival date to avoid penalty (unless noted otherwise).

Are pre-conference and satellite meeting canceled?
Yes, all meetings held at IADR/AADR facilities will no longer be held. Contact your organizer for any additional details.

Will any sessions be made available virtually?
At this time, there are no plans to make sessions and panels available virtually.

What about the Competitions?
If you were a competitor in an IADR or AADR level Competition (Hatton, SCADA, Lister), Sheri Herren will be in touch regarding arrangements for a possible virtual competition so that we may still identify the 2020 winners.  

Will awards still be presented?
You will receive a follow up contact regarding any award competitions or award funding. Travel grants will not be available. Please be patient as IADR and AADR work toward a solution.

Will my abstract still be published?
Despite the cancellation of the meeting, the abstracts will be citable as part of an online only special issue of the Journal of Dental Research. If you withdrew your presentation AFTER January 27, 2020 but prior to March 7, 2020 please contact if you wish to reinstate your abstract to be citable as part of the online only special issue of the Journal of Dental Research. Your request must be received no later than March 20, 2020.
