Join the American Association for Dental Research (AADR) and the Friends of National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (FNIDCR) on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 for the 2021 AADR and FNIDCR Capitol Hill Day!
During this annual event—taking place entirely online this year—dental and craniofacial researchers, dental educators, students, patient advocates, and other oral health advocates have a unique opportunity to connect with members of Congress about issues that are vital to the field, including increased funding for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR). Capitol Hill Day on March 17 is the opportune time to advocate for Fiscal year 2022 funding and champion programs that could affect you, your institution, and the fields of dental, oral and craniofacial research.
Due to the ongoing circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s Hill Day format will be virtual. Prior to March 17, AADR will host on-demand online trainings (dates below) to prepare advocates to engage with their lawmakers about the importance of federally funded research. Then, on March 17, individuals will have meetings with Hill staff—from the comfort of their (home) office. As always, AADR will arrange the meetings between individuals and their elected officials in the House and Senate, but in 2021 these meetings will be conducted virtually.
