June 21-24, 2023. The World Congress on Preventive Dentistry (WCPD) is scheduled to take place on June 24, 2023. Pre-meeting events and satellite sessions may be scheduled to take place June 19-20, 2023.

Next year, the IADR/LAR General Session & Exhibition will be joined by the 12th World Congress on Preventive Dentistry (WCPD). This special event will take place on the final two days of the meeting and is open to all meeting attendees. We strongly encourage everyone to participate, as the WCPD only takes place approximately once every four years and offers a unique scientific program communicating the latest research findings that can have a positive impact on global oral health.
The WCPD aims to raise awareness of oral diseases globally, their social and commercial determinants, promote healthy environments, highlight the impact of oral diseases on poor and disadvantaged populations, and encourage policy makers to incorporate oral health into public health intervention programs as part of primary health care and universal health coverage. Integrating multifactorial approaches towards the prevention of oral cancer, dental caries, periodontal disease, and other oral diseases at the population level will be emphasized. These are exciting times with the adoption of the WHO Resolution on Global Oral Health in 2021, the WHO Draft Global Oral Health Strategy earlier this year, and the WHO Global Oral Health Action Plan currently under discussion. All of these documents have research as their foundation and research must be part of their implementation.
Delegates can submit abstracts to be considered for presentation at both IADR and WCPD.
-
You can book your hotel from the IADR housing site to receive a special rate. The hotel is typically located within walking distance of the convention center. Housing site information will be available on the IADR General Session Hotel Recommendations page.
-
The dress code for this meeting will be business casual for the daytime sessions. Jackets and ties are not necessary for men and suites are not necessary for women.
-
If the General Session cannot be held in-person to protect the health and safety of attendees, it will pivot to a virtual meeting to be held on an IADR virtual platform. All scheduled presentations and sessions would then take place online. Registrations will automatically be updated to virtual attendance and will not be eligible for a refund.

Feedback provided reported high value of this presentation format and discussion periods.
This will also allow for Scientific Group/Network Group Program Chairs to build more cohesive sessions from the abstracts submitted.
