Position statements

are brief statements of the organization’s stance and recommendations regarding a particular issue without specific reference to supporting evidence to defend the position.

 

Policy statements

also state the organization’s stance on a particular issue but also include references to research and data on which this policy is based.

 

White papers

represent the most extensive review of the subject matter of the three document types, a description of the organization’s stance, and specific recommendations regarding the issue.
