The Pediatric Oral Health Research Group of IADR has established the above award for the purpose of promoting the interest of young scientists and students in research focused on the oral health of children and adolescents, and to acknowledge excellence of the research conducted by young investigators. (DDS students, Master students or residents in certificate programs). The
winner will receive a Certificate of Recognition and $1000 USD.

Applicants are required to be members of the Pediatric Oral Health Research Group, by the time of application and receipt of the prize. Applicants should be dental students, MS/MSD candidates or residents in certificate programs.
The Award will be given on the basis of general excellence in research related to pediatric oral health as demonstrated by the abstract and, and
oral or poster presentation (either face-to-face or online presentation).
The President of the POHR Group will convene a judging panel comprising the current Executive Committee of the Pediatric Oral Health Research Group. This panel will evaluate abstracts and select 4 finalists.
The second round of the competition will consist of a poster presentation session where each finalist will have an opportunity to discuss their poster with the judges. Therefore, finalists are expected to be available for the poster presentation session typically held at the start (first day) of the IADR General Session. The winner will be announced in the Pediatric Oral Health Research Group business meeting that is typically held on Thursday afternoon. These finalists will be judged for the quality of the poster, oral presentation and responses to questions.
In case of a tie in votes between two or more candidates, the President will convene a second judging panel comprising former members of the Executive Committee of the Pediatric Oral Health Research Group and continue to do so until one candidate has the majority of votes.
The Award will take the form of a plaque and a cash prize of US$1,000.
Each applicant must be the primary author and be the presenter of an abstract accepted for presentation at the IADR General Session. The applicant must pre-register for the meeting as a student.
Research submitted for presentation in the General Session & Exhibition of the IADR, will be eligible for consideration for the Pediatric Oral Health Research Award, provided it has not been published. When submitting the abstract, it must be assigned to the Pediatric Oral Health Research Group and the Pediatric Oral Health Research Award must be selected.
The deadline for receipt of applications coincides with the IADR abstract submission deadline for the IADR General Session & Exhibition.
To attend (1) the general IADR meeting in the year in which the Award is made and, (2) the Pediatric Oral Health Research Group annual business meeting where the awardee will be announced and receive the plaque.
