The Pediatric Oral Health Research Group of IADR has established the above award for the purpose of promoting the interest of junior faculties or scientists in research focused on the oral health of children and adolescents, and to acknowledge excellence of the research conducted by junior faculties. (complete their last degree /fellowship /training
program within the last 5 years). The winner will receive a Certificate of
Recognition and $1500 USD.

Applicants are required to be members of the Pediatric Oral Health Research Group, by the time of application and receipt of the prize. Applicants should have completed their last degree, fellowship or training program within the last 5 years in any discipline. For the award recipient in 2022, eligible applicants should complete their degree, fellowship or training program in 2016 or later.
The Award will be given on the basis of general excellence in research related to pediatric oral health as demonstrated by the abstract, and poster or oral presentation (either face-to-face or online presentation) .
The POHR Group President will convene a judging panel comprising the current Executive Committee of the Pediatric Oral Health Research Group. This panel will evaluate applications and select 4 finalists.
The second round of the competition will consist of a poster presentation session where each finalist will have an opportunity to discuss their poster with the judges. Therefore, finalists are expected to be available for the poster presentation session typically held at the start (first day) of the IADR General Session. The winner(s) will be announced in the Pediatric Oral Health Research Group business meeting. These finalists will be judged for the quality of the poster, oral presentation and responses to questions.
In case of a tie in votes between two or more candidates, the President will convene a second judging panel comprising former members of the Executive Committee of the Pediatric Oral Health Research Group and continue to do so until one candidate has the majority of votes.
The Award will take the form of a plaque and a cash prize of US$1500.
Each applicant must be the primary author and be the presenter of an abstract accepted for presentation at the IADR General Session. The applicant must be pre-registered for the meeting by the IADR presenter pre-registration deadline.
Research submitted for presentation in the General Session & Exhibition of the IADR, will be eligible for consideration for the Pediatric Oral Health Research Faculty Award, provided it has not been published. When submitting the abstract, you must select the Pediatric Oral Health Research Group and the Pediatric Oral Health Research Award must be selected.
The deadline for receipt of applications coincides with the IADR abstract submission deadline for the IADR General Session & Exhibition.
To attend (1) the IADR meeting in the year in which the Award is made and, (2) the Pediatric Oral Health Research Group annual business meeting where the awardee will be announced and receive the plaque.
