Loc Do Named Recipient of the 2025 IADR Distinguished Scientist John Greenspan Global Oral Health Research Award

Alexandria, VA, USA – The International Association for Dental, Oral, and Craniofacial Research (IADR) has announced Loc Do as the 2025 recipient of the IADR Distinguished Scientist John Greenspan Global Oral Health Research Award. Do, from The University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia, was recognized during the Opening Ceremonies of the 103rd General Session of the IADR, which was held in conjunction with the IADR/Pan European Regional Congress on June 25-28, 2025 in Barcelona, Spain.

Do currently serves as a professor and the Director of Research at the University of Queensland in Australia. He has received numerous awards and honors for his contributions to oral health research and has been invited to present his findings at several prestigious national and international conferences, showcasing his expertise and commitment to advancing the field. He has served as an Asia Pacific Regional Counselor for the IADR Global Oral Health Research Network and as International Director for the IADR Behavioral, Epidemiological, and Health Services Research group.

Do actively supports scientific conferences throughout the Asia Pacific Region, participating in events such as the Asian Academy of Preventive Dentistry, the Asian Conference on Oral Health Promotion for School Children, the Southeast Asia and Taiwan (SEAT) Oral Health Working Group, and the Global Consortium of Birth Cohort Studies in Oral Health. Do received the IADR Distinguished Scientist Award H. Trendley Dean Memorial Award in 2022.

Supported by Haleon, the IADR John Greenspan Global Oral Health Research Award honors IADR and AADOCR Past President John Greenspan, who was the founding President of the IADR Global Oral Health Inequalities Research Network and the Consortium of Universities for Global Health’s Global Oral Health Interest Group. One of the 17 IADR Distinguished Scientist Awards, it is one of the highest honors bestowed by IADR. The award consists of a monetary award and a plaque and recognizes research that addresses inequalities in global oral health.
