IADR Minimally Invasive Dentistry (MID) Network Jeffery James Cheetham Research Award for Innovations in MID

•    Must be a member of the IADR and MID Network at the time of abstract submission. 
•    Past winners are not eligible for the competition a gain, but unsuccessful candidates can re-apply. 
•    Research abstracts in the field of MID related subjects with innovative strategies are eligible for this award.
•    The abstract must be submitted for poster or oral presentation at the IADR General Session. However, the applicants will have their competition as an oral presentation in a private room during the IADR General Session.
•    The authors must select the MID Network as that group to which the abstract should be submitted for review.
•    Must have contributed significantly to MID research for innovation. MID is a concept that can embrace all aspects of clinical dentistry. The ultimate aim is hard and soft tissue preservation, by detecting early and preventing disease from occurring and intercepting its progress, however when/if there is a need for removal of a tissue, the principle is to be as conservative as possible with a holistic approach.
•    All pre-doctoral/post-doctoral students and faculty researchers, meeting the criteria outlined may apply
 

All abstracts meeting the eligibility criteria outlined above may be entered into the competition.

• Select the award IADR Minimally Invasive Dentistry (MID) Network Jeffery James Cheetham Research Award for Innovations in MID from the list of IADR Scientific Group and Network Awards.

•    The review will be based on the submitted abstract and oral presentations. 
•    The review process will consist of three steps: 
Step 1. 
-    Abstracts submitted for IADR Minimally Invasive Dentistry (MID) Network Jeffery James Cheetham Research Award for Innovations in MID will initially be peer-reviewed by the Abstract Reviewers who will score them (according to the IADR Abstract rating scale) and make suggestions to the MID Group Programme Chair (GPC). 
-    Only abstracts rated the score ‘1-Exceptional’ by at least one Abstract Reviewer will be further considered for the award.by the MID group Abstract Reviewers.

Step 2. 
-    The GPC will then select a maximum of six abstracts from their assigned section and forward these abstracts to the Award Committee. 
-    Members of the Award Committee will be chosen by the President of the MID of IADR and will consist of a minimum of three and a maximum of five present and past members (President) of the Executive Committee. 
-    The Award Committee will then select a maximum of four abstracts for presentations which are worthy of Jeffery James Cheetham Research Award for Innovations in Minimally Invasive Dentistry (MID) Award. 
-    Due to potential bias and conflict of interest, abstracts authored by members of the Executive Committee are not eligible to apply for the award.

Step 3. 
-    The shortlisted candidates will be notified four weeks before the IADR meeting of the MID Network. 
-    The shortlisted applicants will be judged by a minimum of two present and past members of the Executive Committee during the presentations. 
-    Finally, the winners (1st and 2nd places) will be announced at the Network Business meeting.

No panel member should have a conflict of interest in the participating projects. The decision of the panel will be final and not open to appeal. The winner will be the proposal with the highest total rank score by the judges.

The IADR MID Network reserves the right not to give any awards in the event no eligible entries are received or in case submissions are not of sufficient high standard as determined by the Award Committee.
