Eligibility

All applicants must be current IADR and Orthodontic Research Group members.
Open only to dental students, dental residents, graduate students and post-doctoral fellows. Faculty members are not allowed to enter the competition.

Submit your Abstract to Apply

•    All applicants must be current members of IADR.
•    All applicants must be current Orthodontics Research Group (ORG) members.
•    Competition is open only to dental students, dental residents, graduate students and post-doctoral fellows. Faculty members are not allowed to enter the competition.
•    Applicants must submit their abstract online to the Orthodontics Research Group through the IADR abstract submission portal by the established deadline.
•    The abstract must be the Orthodontics Research area of study.
•    Abstracts must be 300 words or less and have the following headings: Introduction, Methods, Results, and Conclusion.
To submit your abstract for the CTOR Award;
• Applicants must first submit their abstract to the IADR abstract submission platform and select the CTOR Award in Orthodontics Research Group option.
• Applicants may only apply to one Competition sponsored by the Orthodontics Research Group. Selecting multiple awards will result in disqualification.
• All abstracts must be submitted by the deadline on the IADR General Session & Exhibition website.
• Finalists will be selected among eligible applicants whose abstracts have been accepted under the regular IADR scientific review.
•    The competition will be scheduled before the IADR meeting. All competitors must be present for the online judging session. If the finalists fail to present at the judging session will be disqualified.
•    10 abstracts from all entries (oral or poster) will be selected for the competition.
•    The abstract must present an advancement in Orthodontics.
•    For the competition, authors of the selected entries will present their work in online presentation format to 2-4 judges. (Please note that this presentation is in addition to the poster or oral presentation to be given at the IADR meeting.)
•    Each finalist will have 10 minutes to present their research plus 5 minutes for questions from the judges.
•    The award certification ceremony and winner announcement will be at the Orthodontic Research Group reception during the IADR General session.
•    Three winner will be selected from the finalists.
•    Each winner will be awarded USD 300 and Certificate of Recognition
•    IADR will issue the award's prize money to the winner after the meeting (usually 3-4 weeks)
•    The remaining finalists will receive a Certificate of Excellence.
