IADR Pediatric Oral Health Research Group Young Investigator Award

• Must be a member of the Pediatric Oral Health Research Group.
• Must be a Ph.D. student or post-doctoral fellow.
• Applicants are required to submit evidence to confirm eligibility for this award (e.g. evidence of enrollment or completed degree) upon abstract submission.
• Applicants can only apply under one category of the Pediatric Oral Health Research Group Awards in any given year.

The Award will be given on the basis of general excellence in research related to pediatric oral health as demonstrated by the abstract, and poster or oral presentation (either face-to-face or online presentation).

The POHR Group will convene a judging panel comprising the current Executive Committee of the Pediatric Oral Health Research Group. This panel will evaluate applications and select  finalists.
The second round of the competition will consist of a presentation session where each finalist will have an opportunity to discuss their poster with the judges. Therefore, finalists are expected to be available for the poster or oral presentation of the IADR General Session. The winner(s) will be announced in the Pediatric Oral Health Research Group business meeting or soon after the completion of the General Session. Applicants will be judged for the quality of the poster, or oral presentation and responses to questions.
In case of a tie in votes between two or more candidates, the President will convene a second judging panel comprising former members of the Executive Committee of the Pediatric Oral Health Research Group and continue to do so until one candidate has the majority of votes.
The Award will take the form of a certificate and a cash prize of $1000 USD.
Each applicant must be the primary author and be the presenter of an abstract accepted for presentation at the IADR General Session. The applicant must pre-register for the meeting as a student.
Research submitted for presentation in the General Session & Exhibition of the IADR, will be eligible for consideration for the Pediatric Oral Health Research Award, provided it has not been published. When submitting the abstract, it must be assigned to the Pediatric Oral Health Research Group and the Pediatric Oral Health Research Group Young Investigator Award category  must be selected.
The deadline for receipt of applications coincides with the IADR abstract submission deadline for the IADR General Session & Exhibition.

To attend (1) the general IADR meeting in the year in which the Award is made and, (2) the Pediatric Oral Health Research Group annual business meeting where the awardee will be announced and receive the plaque.
