Frauke Müller Named Recipient of the 2023 IADR Distinguished Scientist Research in Prosthodontics and Implants Award

Alexandria, VA, USA – The International Association for Dental Research (IADR) announced that Frauke Müller is this year’s recipient of the IADR Distinguished Scientist Research in Periodontal Disease Award. Müller, from the University of Geneva, Switzerland, was recognized during the Opening Ceremonies of the 101st General Session of the IADR, which was held in conjunction with the 9th Meeting of the Latin American Region and the 12th World Congress on Preventive Dentistry, that took place on June 21, 2023, in Bogotá, Colombia.

Müller is Head of the Division of Gerodontology and Removable Prosthodontics at the University of Geneva and has been endorsed by the Prosthodontic Group's Executive Committee. She has a renowned reputation in the field of removable prosthodontics and gerodontology and served as the Dean of the Dental School in Geneva from 2018 to 2022. Additionally, as an Active Fellow and Executive Board member of the Academy of Prosthodontics, she is one of only a few European members of the mostly American Group. She is the only lifetime dentist member of the Swiss Academy of Medical Sciences, holds an honorary doctorate title from the University of Thessaloniki, Greece.

A prolific publisher, she has co-authored over 180 articles, as well as 25 books and book chapters, significantly contributing to the field of prosthodontics. She is one the leading voices of the specialty in Europe.

The Research in Prosthodontics and Implants Award is one of the 17 IADR Distinguished Scientist Awards and one of the highest honors bestowed by IADR. The award recognizes outstanding research accomplishments in the field of prosthodontics.
