Alexandria, VA, USA – The International Association for Dental, Oral, and Craniofacial Research (IADR) has announced Santosh Tadakamadla as the 2025 recipient of the IADR Young Investigator Award. Tadakamadla, from La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia, was recognized during the Opening Ceremonies of the 103rd General Session of the IADR, which was held in conjunction with the IADR/Pan European Regional Congress on June 25-28, 2025 in Barcelona, Spain.
Tadakamadla completed his undergraduate studies at Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, India, before pursuing a Masters of Public Health Dentistry at Rajasthan University of Health Sciences, India. He then spent time in research and teaching roles in India, Saudi Arabia, and Australia before earning a Ph.D. at Griffith University, Australia, in 2020. Tadakamadla’s current research program focuses on promoting oral health among children through family-focused, low-intensity online programs.
Tadakamadla’s collaborations with researchers from different continents have included global burden of disease reports published in the Lancet, Journal of Dental Research articles related to COVID-19, and appointments as adjunct professor in several universities outside of Australia. He has received numerous awards for his research efforts, including an IADR Australian/New Zealand Division Investigator Award in Preventive and Community Dentistry, and an IADR Centennial Emerging Leader Award.
Supported by P&G Professional Oral Health, Crest + Oral-B, the IADR Young Investigator Award aims to stimulate basic research in all dental research disciplines. It is one of the 17 IADR Distinguished Scientist Awards and one of the highest honors bestowed by the IADR. The winner is asked to serve a two-year term on the IADR Board of Directors commencing at the conclusion of the General Session where the award was received.
