Growth and Development Research Award

•    All applicants must be current members of IADR.
•    All applicants must be current Orthodontics Research Group (ORG) members.
•    Competition is open to Orthodontics innovators at all levels – faculty, post-doctoral fellows, graduate students, dental residents, and dental students.
•    Applicants must submit their abstract online to the Orthodontics Research Group through the IADR abstract submission portal by the established deadline. 
•    Abstracts must relate to Growth and Development and Craniofacial Orthopedics research.
•    Abstracts must be 300 words or less and have the following headings: Introduction, Methods, Results, and Conclusion.
The following individuals are NOT eligible to apply to this Competition (but may be listed as co-authors involved in the research): 
1.    Current officers of the IADR Orthodontics Research Group 
2.    Previous award winners of this awards program

To submit your abstract for the Growth and Development Award;
• Applicants must first submit their abstract to the IADR abstract submission platform and select the Growth and Development Award in Orthodontics Research Group option. 
• Applicants may only apply to one Competition sponsored by the Orthodontics Research Group. Selecting multiple awards will result in disqualification. 
• All abstracts must be submitted by the deadline on the IADR General Session & Exhibition website.
• Finalists will be selected among eligible applicants whose abstracts have been accepted under the regular IADR scientific review.
 

Judging

• The Competition will be scheduled before the IADR meeting. All competitors must be present for the online judging session. The finalists will be disqualified if they fail to present at the judging session. 
• 5 abstracts from all entries (oral or poster) will be selected for the Competition.
• The abstract must present an innovation in the field of Growth and Development and Craniofacial Orthopedics research
• For the Competition, authors of the selected entries will present their work to 2-4 judges through an online meeting platform. (Please note that this presentation is in addition to the poster or oral presentation at the IADR meeting.)
• Each finalist will have 10 minutes to present their research plus 5 minutes for questions from the judges.

CRITERIA for judging and rating the finalists will include:

• Innovation in the field of Growth and Development and Craniofacial Orthopedics research
• Impact on the clinical practice of Craniofacial Orthopedics and Orthodontic correction of growing and non-growing patients
• Quality of research design
• Quality and clarity of presentation

•    The award certification ceremony and winner announcement will be at the Orthodontic Research Group reception during the IADR General session. 
•    One winner will be selected from the finalists.
•    The winner will be awarded USD 700 and a Certificate of Recognition
•    IADR will issue the award's prize money to the winner after the meeting (usually 3-4 weeks)
•    The remaining finalists will receive a Certificate of Excellence.
