IADR GORG Poul Holm-Pedersen Travel Award

The Poul Holm-Pedersen Award is a travel award to support researchers from low to lower-middle income countries to present their work at the IADR General Session. Applicants should be based in an institution in a low to lower-middle income country as defined by the most recently available World Bank Classification by Gross National Income.  When applications receive equal scores, priority will be given to applicants from low-income countries only.

This award honors Prof. Poul Holm-Pedersen who was one of the pioneers of gerodontology and  research into the oral health in vulnerable elderly people. He broke new ground in terms of the education and professionalisation of gerodontology, by developing it as a specialisation within dentistry with a particular focus on education and clinical guidelines, which resulted in several books. Furthermore, he had an international impact for which he was the first to receive the IADR Distinguished Scientist Award in Geriatric Oral Research.
