Dr Diego Jazanovich, BDS (Lond), MMEd (Dund.) MFDS RCS (Eng), MFGDP(UK), DipClinEd, CELTA
Diego is Assistant Professor and Lead for Dental Education at the School of Dentistry, Faculty of Medicine and Health, Universidad Finis Terrae in Santiago, Chile. He qualified in 1998 from the United Medical and Dental Schools of Guy's and St Thomas's Hospitals, now part of King's College London, and gained clinical experience in hospital, community, and general practice settings across both NHS and private sectors. Since relocating to Chile, he has contributed significantly to national reforms improving the recognition of foreign dental qualifications.
With a background in Cariology and Operative Dentistry, his academic work centres on faculty development and curricular innovation. He created and directs an online diploma in minimum intervention oral care and designs academic English courses for health professions students, drawing on his Cambridge CELTA qualification. He holds a Master's in Medical Education from the University of Dundee, is an active member of AMEE, and sits on the editorial board of the British Dental Journal.
His research interests include student and teacher wellbeing and burnout, and arts- and museum-based approaches to health professions education.
