IADR Digital Dentistry Research Network Research Award

• Applicants must be members of the IADR
• Applicants must be a member of the IADR Digital Dentistry Research Network (DDRN)
• Applicants must have an abstract accepted for presentation at the IADR General Session within a Digital Dentistry Research Network-sponsored session.
• Applicants for the Non-student Award must be faculty members, staff researchers, postdoctoral fellows, or other researchers holding an official full-time or part-time appointment at a university, academic institution, or research institution.
• Applicants for a Student Award must be enrolled as a student at the time of abstract submission.
   

An abstract must be submitted for presentation at the annual IADR General Session. The presenting author must select the Digital Dentistry Research Network as the group to which the abstract should be submitted for review and select the DDRN Research Award from the list of IADR Group/Network Awards to indicate that they wish to be considered. Eligible applicants must also indicate whether they are applying for the Student or Non-student Award category. All eligible abstracts, as outlined above, will be considered for the award.

Applicants for the IADR Digital Dentistry Research Network (DDRN) Research Award must indicate their intention to apply for the award at the time of abstract submission and select the appropriate Student or Non-student category. Only abstracts submitted to DDRN-sponsored sessions (oral or poster) and marked for award consideration will be included for review.

All submitted abstracts will be initially peer-reviewed by the Abstract Reviewers and scored according to the IADR Abstract Rating Scale (1 = Exceptional, 2 = Outstanding, through 9 = Poor). Abstract Reviewers will consider scientific merit, originality, methodological quality, significance and potential impact of the research, and clarity of the abstract. Only abstracts rated as “1 - Exceptional” or “2 - Outstanding” by at least one Abstract Reviewer will be further considered for the award.

The Abstract Reviewers will then select a maximum of five eligible abstracts in each award category from their assigned section and forward these abstracts to the Award Committee.

Members of the Award Committee will be appointed by the President of the IADR Digital Dentistry Research Network and will consist of a minimum of three and a maximum of five current and/or past members of the Executive Committee.

The Award Committee will review the shortlisted abstracts and select up to one Non-student Award recipient and two Student Award recipients based on academic merit, originality, methodological quality, potential impact, and the clarity and professionalism of the abstract.
Due to potential bias and conflict of interest, abstracts authored by members of the IADR Digital Dentistry Research Network Executive Committee are not eligible to apply for the award.

The Digital Dentistry Research Network of IADR reserves the right not to grant any award if no eligible entries are received or if submissions are deemed not to meet the required standard as determined by the Award Committee.
The award recipients will be announced during the DDRN Business Meeting/Reception at the IADR General Session.
 

Abstract Submission deadline as set by IADR.  Notification of result will be at the end of the IADR General session.

Following completion of the review process, one Non-student Award recipient will receive $1,000 and up to two Student Award recipients will receive $500 each. Each recipient will also receive a certificate of recognition.
