IADR Global Oral Health Inequalities Research Network (GOHIRN) Travel Award for New Investigators

The IADR GOHIRN Travel Award for New Investigators will assist new investigators residing in low to upper middle-income countries to attend the IADR General Session & Exhibition. This travel grant is designed to encourage new investigators to undertake research and to support their attendance at the IADR General Session & Exhibition for presentation of research in all aspects of oral health where inequalities exist.

Eligibility

be an IADR full member at the time of application [If unable to join due to financial reasons, please provide a letter justifying the need for financial assistance to pay for membership to IADR]
be a new investigator – up to ten years post terminal, most advanced degree, by award deadline
reside in a low to upper middle income country, as defined by the most recently available World Bank Classification by Gross National Income (GNI)
have an accepted abstract for the IADR General Session
acknowledge that they may only receive the travel award once

• To apply, an abstract must be submitted for the IADR General Session, which will be subject to peer review within the scientific groups of the IADR.
• When submitting your abstract please select the IADR Global Oral Health Inequalities Research Network (GOHIRN) as your Group and Network so the abstract will be eligible for the award.
• If selected for the award, the abstract must be presented at the meeting (oral or poster, no presenter substitutions allowed).
Up to 10 travel grants will be awarded. The winner of each travel grant will receive up to US $2,000 for expenses to attend the IADR General Session & Exhibition (the “Meeting”). Grant amount will be based on standard coach airfare from the New Investigator’s country of residence to the Meeting, a daily stipend for food and lodging for a single hotel room during the Meeting, and if applicable, fees to cover membership dues to IADR.
