Welcome to the Prosthodontics Group
The objectives of the Prosthodontics Group are to provide a forum for the exchange of interdisciplinary scientific information in pertaining in prosthodontics and to promote prosthodontics research, particularly among emerging young prosthodontic researchers and teachers. Prosthodontics is a dynamic research field spanning from in vitro laboratory research, animal research, theoretical engineering, clinical research and epidemiology. The research topics covered in this Group are, but not limited to: prosthodontic-related materials, cariology, implant dentistry, tissue engineering, and quality of life. Additionally, the Group conducts three types of research competition for student/members.
Edmond Pow

Dr. Pow is a tenured Clinical Associate Professor and the Postgraduate Programme Director in Prosthodontics at the Faculty of Dentistry, The University of Hong Kong. As a registered specialist in Prosthodontics, Dr. Pow has been actively working in various aspects of clinical prosthodontics for over 30 years. His research interests include digital prosthodontics, dental implants and biomaterials. Dr. Pow has published over 100 scientific and clinical articles and he won the Judson C. Hickey Scientific Writing Award (Dental Technique Category) of the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry in 2015. He currently serves on the editorial board of the Clinical Oral Implants Research, Journal of Prosthodontics, International Journal of Prosthodontics and International Dental Journal. Dr. Pow has been a member of IADR since 2001. He is now the President-elect of the Prosthodontics Group of IADR. He was also the Chair of IADR/AADR William J. Gies Award Committee, President of Hong Kong Prosthetic Dentistry Society, President of the College of Dental Surgeons of Hong Kong and Chair of the Asia Regional Committee of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (RACDS).
